# Firewall rules for evnex X series

I have an evnex X series charger. I have looked for information regarding what outbound protocols/ports the evnex chargers require. I’m surprised that I have not been able to find this information. Does anyone know exactly which outbound ports the evnex requires for proper functioning?

Hi there.
I’m reliably informed that “It requires unrestricted internet access as you would give a phone or laptop. It does not require opening of any special ports. It does not use fixed outbound ports, IP addresses and URLs.”

I cannot see how it requires “unrestricted Internet access”. From a security perspective, that is not acceptable. It should only need to talk to a handful of different services, and on many of those services, just a handful of server hostnames.
