Energy Plan Comparison

Had a look at this new feature.
I think it’s a great feature in a world of ever moving tariff structures.

A few items I noted already.

  • It only provides you comparison with the cheapest tariff it finds.
It would be better if you could select to see more options.

- Would be useful if you could flag it to find an EV plan with low nighttime rate.
I don’t charge at night because I currently have a flat tariff, but I would shift my charging to nighttime if I found a comparable rate that offered a low night tariff.

- It would be great to have the option to manually enter a tariff/plan.
I keep getting offers from energy retailers that are not published, trying to convince me to stay or more over. If I could manually enter a tariff for comparison that would provide some extra flexibility.

Hats off to the team at Evnex for constantly innovating and not resting on your laurels.

Interested in what others think of this new feature…

Where is this feature? I’ve looked, but can’t find it. My app is version 3.31.2.

You need to swipe right on the main screen. Its below the live load info.
It may only be available in Australia.

Hi @JBNZ, this feature is only available in Australia at the moment. We’re planning on launching in NZ later this year, once open electricity data is launched.

I tried to use this feature but my provider’Flow Energy’ is not listed. Can you remedy this please

Thanks Ed. I look forward to that. Hopefully you’ll be able to cover all NZ retailers.

Unfortunately we don’t have data from Flow Power. The consumer data legislation only requires retailers with more than 10,000 customers to support data exchange with approved third parties, and at the moment they have about 5,000. Some smaller retailers have provided data anyway, so hopefully Flow will choose to soon (or grow large enough to be required to!)
