I’m running into a problem with a new Honda e:N1 and and E2 charger. I have set up the E2 charger to run between 12:00 am and 6:00 am when power is cheaper. However, charger seldom starts during this period and although the charger seems to follow the schedule, the car does not signal for charging to occur.
I have experimented with the Do Not Charge settings on the e:N1 but this does not seem to help. Disabling this option, setting it to Do Not Charge to fall outside the charging window (e.g. 6:10 am to 11:50 pm) don’t seem to make a difference.
Occasionally, charging does start as expected, but I cannot see any pattern in what allows this to happen.
The only way to reliably have charging start, is to plug the e:N1 after midnight (either the first time, or after unplugging it).
I can’t tell if this is a charger problem, a car problem, or some kind of interaction between the two. Honda don’t seem to have any ideas about this which probably reflects a lack of knowledge here.
Do you have any suggestions as to what I can do to make charging happen according to to the schedule.
