My charger is showing that it is being supplied from a solar source, but I don’t have solar!
We had a heat pump installed on July 1st, and looking at my session history, ever since that happened my charger has been showing that it’s supplied by solar.
I’ve spoken with the electrician who did the heat pump install and nothing was changed in terms of the wiring supplying the charger.
His only thought was that there could be some kind of wifi interference between the heat pump controller and the charger - both running on the same wifi.
Any thoughts greatly appreciated!
Are you sure the electrician didn’t accidentally swap the CT clamp around while they were working? Easiest way to check is to go to the live energy page on the Evnex app, and see which way the power is flowing - turn the kettle on for good measure. If it shows energy moving from the Home to the Grid, then the CT has been reversed.

For the non-sparky, what is the CT clamp?
It’s a small device which clamps around your incoming mains, and connects back to the Evnex. it will likely be black, and have a twisted pair of black and white wires coming from it. It allows the Evnex to ‘see’ how much power your house is using, and limit the charging current if say you have you hot tub, oven, hot water cylinder and toaster on all at once. It also allows the Evnex to see exported power and use solar only to charge your EV.
If, as it looks like in your case, the CT clamp has been reversed, the Evnex ‘sees’ power that you are importing from the grid as export - not ideal, as amongst other issues, the more the Evnex draws for the EV, the more solar it thinks you are making, so draws more power, up until it’s limit. If you were then to turn other power hungry devices on, you could potentially overload breakers or possibly a pole fuse.
Thanks - that all makes sense. Also tracks with the warning the charger was giving that it was limiting charge based on temperature last night.

Hi @Ge0rge - one other thing I’ve noticed is that on my older charge graphs there appears to be a yellow line representing solar which sits right across the x axis of the graph - see example below:
Wondering if this is normal - do other peoples charge summary graphs have those? Makes me think this may have always been not quite right.
